There's definitely an extreme beauty and fashion moment going on. You can't help but be reminded every time you see a picture of Lady Gaga, Daphne Guinness or the models from an Alexander McQueen show. But will this ever go mainstream? Could you ever see yourself going to work or school in those shoes?
I have my doubts, but I love that there are people pushing the envelope. I saw a girl on the subway the other day who was dressed normally, but had a great streak of purple eyeshadow that ran across her eyebrow to her cheekbone. I was so mad I didn't have a camera. I would have definitely taken her picture.
So what's been your most extreme beauty moment? I went blonde once. (I know. Not very extreme.) And years ago, before I worked for Lancome, the brand launched a color collection with red eyeshadow. I thought it would be fun to wear it at home on Christmas Eve. Not one but two relatives asked if I had pink eye.
