An old sketch from a project that was never realized with Foley + Corinna.

Great Expectations.

Inspired by an Alexander McQueen feather Headdress. I love the way the model actually looks like a bird herself.

I seem to have a thing for headdresses (if you haven't caught that yet). I guess this is my little tribute to him, a bit delayed, but I'd been meaning to get around to it for awhile; I just happened to be reminded of my little personal project when I walked by his store last night in the Meatpacking district and nearly tripped drooling over the window display. It was such a huge loss for the fashion world when he left. He was one of my heroes, and by far my favorite designer. A true genius, he absolutely epitomized creativity- the act of creating something from nothing- and never ceased to amaze and astound.

"Little Bit In Love With You"

As usual, life in this tiny part of the
world (NYC) had been crazy. Haven't had much time to stop and breathe (much less post). I have stil
l been drawing, fortunately, although, maybe not quite as much as I would like.

I'd been meaning to draw this image of Lykke Li--the Swedish Indie pop st
ar--for a while now, and finally pulled it out while sitting with a friend at a coffee shop in williamsburg the other day (cliche? Maybe.) While my roommate and I are huge fans, I was drawn to this particular image almost more for the gritty, primal feeling of the photo--i love her sudo-dreadlocks; I think it was in W magazine, if I'm remembering correctly.

Also, thanks again to everyone following Art Breathes.
It's been really fun watching this little blog project grow in the last few months. I've been lucky enough to get some really great exposure
though all sorts of channels. Bringing it up with a friend today, another artist, his enthusiasm began motivating me again to get more work out there. So, universe, here's my first small-step in the right direction. Hope there are more good things to come...

Clouded.

Experimenting with a looser effect. For an upcoming collab with a friend, very excited.
You can check out his work here. Should be good. Mmmmhmmmm!

*Also, editing credit on this one goes to Rich Tu. Thanks, Rich! ^_^

All About My Mother

Happy Valentines Day, All! <3
This is a little sketch I did on the airplane a few months ago of my mama. Isn't she beautiful? This is a photo I snagged from her back home. :)
She was in her early twenties, studying abroad in london. Took a picture of her new haircut in a photo booth.
Makes me happy.
