Win This Zac Posen/Target Dress Before it Hits Stores! We'll Throw in a Pretty Lipstick Too!

Wow! So many blush comments and so much good advice. I'll work on some future blush posts so we can answer the questions many of you posted. And Angelina. yes, we read all the comments! Thank you for sharing that story about your grandmother. That's really beautiful that you have her compact.

If you read the blog regularly, you might remember that the Lancome team bumped into designer Zac Posen at the Night Before Party in L.A. right before the Oscars. He was very nice and very charming, and trust me, not all designers are. Target was one of the sponsors (along with Lancome) and they had a booth featuring the upcoming Zac Posen for Target line. Each guest was given the Zac outfit of their choice, a Zac tote bag and a Zac scarf. (Lancome gave all the guests Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate, Genifique eye cream, BiFacil eyemakeup remover, Oscillation vibrating mascara and Creme de Brilliance liquid lipstick. Not bad, right?)

I picked the dress above (in a size 5--there weren't many sizes left!) because I thought it would be fun for a blog giveaway. To enter, just leave a comment telling us a good deed you've done recently. We'll pick one post at random and that person will get the Zac dress, bag and scarf, plus a L'Absolu Rouge lipstick in Exotic Orchid (my new fave), a gorgeous deep pink that will look pretty with the dress. Please post by Sunday night.

Check out Fashionista.com for the Zac Target lookbook. The collection goes on sale April 25th.

Have a nice weekend and good luck!

Who Won the Birthday Blog Giveaway?

Trying to get back on track with the blog giveaways! (Thank you again, MNK, for the gentle reminder.) And the winner is...Lucy! Lucy's email address starts with the word Lucky, so maybe we all need to change our email addresses! Lucy, I sent you an email, so please check your inbox and get back to me.

Thank you for all the birthday well wishes. And happy birthday to all the fellow Pisces! (I'm a Pisces too.) A few of you left questions/suggestions on the birthday post, so I wanted to respond to as many as I can:

@RPDDE--We do have a Facebook page! It's under Lancome Paris. I'd love for all of you to join. We're also on Twitter. If you're a Twitter fan, please follow.

@MNK--I would love to do reader reviews! What do you think the best way to do them would be? Have Reader Review days every now and then and pick a different topic? Like mascara one day, lip gloss another day? If anyone has suggestions, let me know. I really like this idea.

@Lara--We will start doing EOTD, NOTD and FOTD this year. I can't say when though. I just learned how to do the micro setting on my digital camera, which I considered a big accomplishment! So I'm going to play around with that for a bit and do more sneak peek things for the blog.

@Bree--Thank you for letting us know who the blog shares a birthday with. Jon Hamm? Not too shabby. We met him at the Night Before Party. He's like Clive Owen in that what you get on screen is what you get in person, meaning tall, handsome, etc., etc. (You can't say that for all celebs. Although I have to say I thought Sandra Bullock, whom we also met, was even prettier in person than on screen. I'll refrain from editorializing, but I'm sure we're all Team Sandra here.)

@Natalie--Good luck with that Sprinkles in Chicago. I hope the line isn't an hour long like in L.A. and I hope you don't become hopelessly addicted.

@Lara--Since you were happy to see pictures of your fellow Spaniard Ines Sastre, here are a few more. Hope you enjoy them! You can get a much better view of the Bronze Riviera makeup look if you click the last picture.

Talk to you soon!

Oh L.A., L.A.!

Thank you for the fabulous birthday wishes! All of you are just the best. Some of you asked questions and I'll be sure to answer Friday or Monday. Let's wrap up our Oscar weekend in L.A.!

As I mentioned, it was really exciting to be in Los Angeles during all the Oscar activity, but I have to confess that I'm not the biggest L.A. fan. I always feel like a Martian there. I'm too pale, wear too much black, don't care about cars and like to walk everywhere. Those don't seem to be L.A. characteristics. My disinterest in cars aside, I was very happy when Hertz upgraded me to a white Mercedes. (Free upgrade, in case the accounting department is reading this!) It was the only car left with a GPS, which still didn't help me on the confusing freeways. I got lost everywhere I went.

The Lancome team stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel, which was a real treat. It's a fabulous, old-school hotel and it was the location of the Night Before Party, which Lancome co-sponsored. Every celebrity in town stopped by, including Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Cameron Diaz, George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry and Penelope Cruz, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, SJP, my new crushes Gerard Butler and Jon Hamm and on and on. (Click here for some pics.) Almost everyone stopped by our booth to say hi and swipe some Juicy Tubes from the fishbowls full that we had set out like candy. Our national makeup artist Darais was on hand to do touchups and demonstrate Oscillation. (More than one actress ran in and declared, "I need lip gloss!")

At the end of the night, everyone left with a Lancome goodie bag that included Genifique eye cream, Oscillation mascara in black, Bi-Facil eye makeup remover, Creme de Brilliance in Rose Mythique and one thing I'm forgetting! Erin can remind me tomorrow!!

The designer Zac Posen was there with Target (another co-sponsor of the party) to promote his new line for the retailer. The clothes are very cute and everyone in attendance got to pick an outfit. I picked one out to use as a giveaway for the blog, but my boxes haven't arrived from L.A. yet! So please check back next week. We'll do a giveaway as soon as the boxes arrive. Zac, by the way, was a sweetheart. We talked to him for a little while about makeup at fashion shows.

Of course, Erin and I had some Sprinkles cupcakes. (Please come to New York, Sprinkles!) I stopped there on Saturday, stood on line for 20 minutes and realized I would have to stand online for at least another 30 minutes. Life is too short for that. So I went back early the next morning. No line!

On the way home, I bumped into manicurist extraordinaire Deborah Lippmann at the airport. Deborah, one of my favorite people in the industry, did Kate Winslet's nails for the Academy Awards. The shade Kate was wearing, in case you're wondering, is Deborah's Baby Love color from her nail polish line. I forgot to mention that in the Kate post the other day.

Sorry for the lame picture. I have to run out the door, but I'll post better ones tomorrow. Have a good night!

Greetings from Hollywood!

Hi, everyone. Lancome's in Los Angeles for Oscar weekend and we've been super busy. We sponsored the Night Before party last night and it was celeb central. We did Demi Moore and Kate Winslet's makeup tonight. And we did lots of things in between! We'll report next week on all of our L.A. activities. Look forward to catching up soon.
