Meet Danny Roberts, Illustrator Extraordinaire!

So "Entrepreneur Week" continues. As I mentioned yesterday, this week we're featuring some artists, designers and entrepreneurs who inspire us with their work. This is in honor of the 75th anniversary of Lancome, which started all those years ago as a small brand with a few fragrances.

Today, we'd like to introduce Danny Roberts, the talented illustrator behind the Igor + Andre blog. Hopefully, many of you already know about him and his beautiful work. We first read about Danny on the Fashionista web site and the entire P.R. team fell in love. We ordered some prints from his Etsy store and decorated our P.R. closet (where we store all the product) with them.

Since then, Lancome has comissioned two illustrations from Danny. One was a drawing from the Chris Benz Spring 2010 collection at which we launched the Chris & Tell Pout-a-Porter lipstick. The other was for our Holiday 2009 card.

We had the pleasure of meeting Danny and his brother backstage at Chris's Fall 2010 show. They took pictures for future sketches and Danny even did some preliminary sketching. Danny's very inspired by the world of fashion and it's wonderful to see clothes and models come to life through his imagination. I look at Danny's blog a few times a week and it's almost like meditation for me. There's something so peaceful and lovely about his work. Even the inspiration photos and videos he posts are beautiful to look at.

He's a very special invididual and the team and I consider ourselves lucky to work with him!

In honor of Danny, we're giving away a Chris & Tell lipstick from our secret stash (the lipstick sold out this past spring so it's a bit of a collector's item), our new Definicils Precious Cells mascara, a Bi-Facil makeup remover and one of the Chris & Tell prints (the size is 19 inches by 13 inches in case you want to measure your wall space!). We'll also pick five runners-up to receive just the print. To enter, take a look at Danny's blog or his Etsy boutique and tell us which of his drawings you like the best and why.

Please post a comment by Thursday night. Good luck!!

Where to Find and How to Apply The Chris & Tell Lipstick...There Are a Few Left!

A lot of people are asking me where they can find Chris & Tell, our Chris Benz L'Absolu Rouge lipstick, especially since J. Crew just featured it as one of Jenna's spring must-haves in the current catalog. The lipstick is a U.S. and a Saks Fifth Avenue exclusive, as most of you know. It sold out on lancome-usa.com and the Lancome boutiques sold out too, although I heard a rumor they might be getting more. It's sold out at several Saks counters, but Madeline the Intern (who just launched her own blog!) found a few locations that still have pieces in case you don't have time to search for yourself:

--The Stamford Town Center Mall in Connecticut--203-323-3100 x327

--The Dallas Galleria in Texas--972-716-5190

--The Palm Beach Esplanade Mall in Florida--561-833-2551 x365

--The South Orange County Mall in Mission Viejo, California--949-347-5100 x364

If you'd like us to post more locations where Chris & Tell is available, let us know. I know it's a drag for some of you that it's so hard to find, but at least we mean it when we tell you something is limited edition. Not like other companies that tell you it's limited, whip up a frenzy, then produce thousands more. Ahem.

Oh, if you live in or near New York City, we're having a personal appearance with Chris at the Saks Fifth Avenue in midtown on Feb. 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. We were able to secure a few dozen lipsticks for sale for that day. If you're around, please stop by and say hi. The whole PR team will be there. If you've already bought a Chris & Tell, bring it and have Chris sign the box. A big thanks to our friend Marta from Talking Makeup (Marta, I hope we see you during Fashion Week!) who posted the video above, which features the insanely talented mua Daniel Martin, who helped create Chris & Tell. You can see how he applies, blots with tissue, dusts with transluscent powder over the tissue and applies again. You can wear it that way, apply it straight from the tube, or smudge on lightly with your finger. It's a very versatile shade for a bright peachy coral!

There aren't any Chris & Tells on eBay at the moment, although two sold last night for some ridiculous price. But there is a cute bright pink Chris Benz cardigan on sale for the "buy it now" price of $30. Somebody should snatch that up before I do. And Kim Kardashian has a gorgeous purple Chris Benz dress there as part of a Red Cross charity auction. Bidding starts at $59.

Happy hunting.

Bonjour from Paris!

Hi, everyone. I'm in Paris for Lancome biz. I'll have some fun things to report in the days ahead, so stayed tuned. Up for tomorrow--the new Genifique facial at the Lancome boutique and spa on rue du Faubourg St. Honore. I'll check out all the O My Rose products that we can't get in the U.S., like the green nail polish and the baby kiss lipstick pastel.

The blogger Belle du Jour asked where everyone can find Chris Benz's Chris & Tell. Unfortunately, it sold out much faster than we expected on Lancome.com. But it will be available shortly at Saks Fifth Avenue. So call your fave Saks Lancome counter and tell them you want it. Otherwise, and I hate to say it, but your only source will be eBay. Belle, by the way, has an awesome blog and I'm completely ashamed to admit I didn't know about.

Did you catch the Golden Globes last night? I missed it, but I'm dying to see pictures of all the actresses whose makeup we did. More on that later this week.

Talk to you soon.

The Beauty Bloggers Hit Paris for the Launch of Spring's Ô My Rose Collection by Aaron De Mey!

Reading Bjooti's post from last night made me realize we don't cover the international beauty bloggers quite enough on this blog. Sorry if we tend to be too US-centric sometimes! This is a good excuse to write about the intimate blogger conference hosted by my Paris colleagues in November. The occassion was the launch of Ô My Rose, the spring color collection created by Aaron De Mey, Lancôme's amazing artistic director for makeup.

Ô My Rose is a beautiful collection that's launching very soon. The star product will no doubt be Pop N' Cheeks in Coral Flirt, a gorgeous coral-peach color with hints of gold. It looks like a rose as interpreted by Picasso. (MUA Daniel Martin used the blush at the Chris Benz show, fyi.) Baby Kiss, the very cool pastel lip stick above, won't be available in the U.S.! Neither will the petrol green nail polish. So to everyone mad that Chris & Tell isn't launching outside the U.S., there you go. We don't get everything either. :(

The bloggers were lucky enough to meet Aaron and hear about his inspiration first hand. (Some, like Miss Whoever You Are, got to see Paris for the first time!) I thought you'd like to see a few of their posts. You might not be able to read half of them, but you'll get the idea!
