A few months ago, Christian Louboutin designed that supreme pair of fuchsia peep-toes, worn in a New York fashion show devoted to Barbie's 50th birthday. That was the beginning of a special relationship. Mr.Louboutin decided to design a series of collector dolls, setting up the "Barbie as Muse" project. He redesigned her feet in order for them to be more feminine and they traveled together in Paris. Their adventure is illustrated in "My Year in Paris With Christian Louboutin" calendar, some photos of which are illustrated above. The "Cat Burgler" themed Barbie sold out at Net-A-Porter.com in just one day (December 4th). The not-so-quick fashionistas have to wait until the on-line store restocks. The "Safari" themed Barbie will follow up in February and the "Cannes Film Festival" one in May. They are quite affordable (150$), coming out with four pairs of shoes, exclusively designed by Mr. Red-Soles. You can also find the dolls and the calendar in barbiecollector.com (40$).
